Event Surveys

A recent project of the event survey group is to quantify the "tidal flushing event" and tide-induced transport of water, nutrients, and plankton through a full tidal cycle at a major inlet connecting Barataria Bay and the Louisiana Shelf. In order to capture the flow of the flood and ebb of the tidal oscillation, the Event Survey group utilizes a wide range of equipment and platforms. They also collect discrete water samples for plankton studies.
